Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I, along with family and friends, am zip wiring 160 metres off the top of The Port of Liverpool Building 200ft high in my pyjamas, in order to raise money for the 'Walton Centre Home from Home Appeal'. This is a charity very close to mine and my families hearts, as we are trying to raise £500k by December, in order to complete the building of a brand new relatives accommodation at the Walton Neurological Centre.
When my Mum was being treated in the Walton Centre, we wanted to be by her side 24/7 as I'm sure you would be the same with a loved one, but there isn't any accommodation for families at the hospital so, what little sleep we did get over the 4 days, was spent in uncomfortable chairs in a small living room area. Luckily we live relatively nearby, so we were able to pop home when we could, however people travelling from the other end of the country aren't able to do that when their loved one is getting treatment.
Before now The Walton Centre had never fundraised before, and so my Amazing Dad had an idea in order to turn something horrible into something positive and hopefully make life better for relatives unfortunately in the same position we were in, in the future.
"With your help, we will build a home from home for relatives who want to stay near to loved ones undergoing lifesaving treatment in our Liverpool hospital. It will include eight, ensuite bedrooms with a sitting area, laundry and kitchen, giving visitors the comforts of home to support them through traumatic times. This will be part of a new, three-storey building which will enable a major expansion of The Walton Centre, scheduled for completion at the end of 2014." (The Walton Centre)
We are nearing our target of £500k for the end of 2014, but we still need your help! Anything you can give big or small is massively appreciated.. thank you xxx <3 xxx
