Hi Everyone
As some of you know, I am going to run the Edinburgh marathon on Sunday 31st May. Those of you who know me well may know that I am not a 'born athlete'

However, with my age marching on and inspired by a few people around me, I have decided to take up the challenge. My training has gone well, I am feeling confident but I can assure you that it will be a huge achievement if I manage to cross the finish line!
Some of you may also know that my brother in law, Russell aged 54, passed away recently after a courageous battle against cancer. I am going to use this opportunity to try and raise some money for the people who spent so much of their time helping him to fight his battle and giving him such fantastic medical care, particularly in the last days of his life.
If you have already made a donation, then a huge thank you. If you would like to make a donation, your money will be allocated to the Haematology Trust Fund within the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Your money will go specifically to the chemotherapy unit who took such great care of Russell. If you would prefer to write a cheque, please make it out to the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, making sure you write Haematology Trust Fund on the reverse, and sending it to me at 67 Dee Street, Aberdeen, AB11 6EE, Scotland.
I know that everyone has particular charities that they like to support, so if you decide not to make a donation, then please simply spare a thought for how precious life is and for my sister and her family as we come to terms with the big gap that Russell has left behind.
Thank you - and wish me luck!
Sophie
