WE DID IT - SNOWDON FIRE ENGINE CHALLENGE
It was an amazing day. Walking up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales is a challenge in itself but we managed to get to the summit with the Fire Engine.
Massive thanks to the 40 strong people who supported on the day, Staff from OHW, TEW, Procurement, Stations, TRU, ISAR to name a few who took on the mountain, went through personal challenges, mental & physical but together as a WMFS family never gave up.
Special thanks to Steve McCormick, Chris Bicknell and the rest of the TEW team building the fire engine without which the event would not be possible.
Thanks to all for all your kind words, offers of support and donations made to the FF Charity…
ITS NOT TO LATE TO DONATE!

HOW IT ALL STARTED
I had this crazy idea of carrying a fire engine up Snowdon, Why?
I wanted to raise vital funds for the Fire Fighters Charity, a charity where firefighters and support staff can turn to when in need and get treated for all types of injuries and disabilities, both visible and hidden.
The charity empowers individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives and is always there when needed.
My crazy idea became a reality when our Transport and Engineering Department did an excellent job and built a scale model of a fire engine.
All departments within West Midlands Fire Service are now coming together to take turns in carrying this fire engine up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales at a height of 1085m.
Please help me in raising funds to enable Firefighters and their families to continue to attend now and for the future utilising The Fire Fighters Charity centres.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and totally secure and any monies donated will go directly to the charity.
