Story
This year, we've chosen to support Endometriosis UK.
Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of
the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and
fallopian tubes. It can be extremely painful and debilitating. It's also a widely misunderstood condition - 54% of people don't know what endometriosis is, including 74% of men.
Around 1 in 10 assigned female at birth (AFAB) people suffer from endometriosis, and it takes on average 7.5 years to receive a diagnosis. That's 1.5 million sufferers in the UK alone.
Endometriosis UK raise awareness about this condition, support sufferers, provide free and accurate information and resources, and get involved in research projects. Their vision is to substantially reduce the impact endometriosis has on the lives of those who suffer with it.
