Story
Our daughter Julieana, as a school project, started writing to one of the residents at ‘Care for Veterans’ and he has inspired us to help them raising some much needed funds in these uncertain times.
Our family challenge is cycling the length of the ‘Tour de France’ (3500km) in under 100 days. We started April 30th and need to arrive in “Paris” before 7th August.
Care for Veterans (formerly The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home) was established in 1919 to care for soldiers returning from World War I with life-changing disabilities.
Care for Veterans receives no regular Government funding, and each year they need to raise over £1.9 million to ensure that they can continue to deliver the first class and award-winning care.
Wheelchair Clinic: 100% of their disabled veterans are wheelchair users. A donation of £2,363 would keep their on-site Wheelchair Clinic running for a month. This essential service ensures that their veterans remain mobile. The Occupational Therapists provide specialist equipment quickly and efficiently. This helps avoid complications from postural issues, and removes the need for hospital wheelchair service visits.
Please help us to reach our goal of £2363 and support Care for Veterans.
In the present time, charities like ‘Care for Veterans’ need your support the most. We strongly believe that with your help we can make a difference in these hard times.
