Story
I am running the 2023 London Landmarks Half Marathon in celebration and memory of those affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle degeneration. People living with Duchenne typically experience the onset of symptoms in early childhood and need to use a powered wheelchair from their early teens throughout the rest of their lives. Life expectancy for this condition is around 30 years. There is currently no cure.
My fundraiser is in support of Action Duchenne, a UK-based charity which spends 88.7p in every £1 they raise on ground-breaking Duchenne research, world-class support for Duchenne families, and cutting edge science education.
This is a cause deeply important to me and any donation is appreciated. Thank you so much for your support!
