Story
The run was last week, and I did a time of 55.27. Thank you so much to everyone who dontated. As you can see, I reached my target of £400. Most importantly, I did it. I was so inspired by all of you, and so determined I was going to make it for the faith all of you showed in me. Thank you SO much!
10k isn't a really long way to run - but it's a long way for those of us who really hate to run to run. The Race for Life supports Cancer Research UK, the world's largest charity researching cancer - causes, prevention, treatment, and how to live with it.
It is a cliche to say that cancer affects all of us; sadly, it's a cliche because it's true. This page is dedicated to so many people (see below), but most especially it is to my daughter's two grandfathers. Daddy - I am so glad you are a survivor, that you have had a chance to know, love and be loved by Freya. Ron, we miss you every day, and not a moment goes by when we don't wish you'd known her, and she you.
It is also for Stephanie and Grandma - formidable Turner women, and both breast cancer survivors, and for Sharon - whose strength and spirit amaze me from afar. Counting down to the five year mark, my girl!
It's in memory of Rob Brown and Terry Holroyd, who died too soon
And it's for Harry, whom I never met, but who touched me and so many others deeply in his 16 month life.
