Story
I've never been much of a long distance runner (I used to struggle doing a 300m lap of the school field) but this year I thought I'd push myself and run a half marathon (at high altitude, in Kenya, surrounded by a whole range of dangerous beasts.)
The motivation for this gruelling (/mad) feat is simple: to raise money for Tusk Trust. Tusk has an amazing track record of helping protect endangered wildlife as well as alleviating poverty, reducing conflict, and improving education and livelihoods amongst rural African communities. You can read more about the charity and it's work at www.tusk.org/tusk-projects
This really is an incredible cause and I feel unbelievably lucky to be able to participate in the event and see first-hand the difference the funds raised will make.
The event is going to be a real challenge for me but I am sure your support/donations will be just the incentive I will need to make it across the line.
Thank you in advance,
Siobhan x
