Event: Virgin London Marathon 2012, on 22 April 2012
In memory of Bill Harrell

Story

On 22nd April, I will be running the London Marathon. As I was lucky enough to get a place in the ballot, I have decided to raise money for the Mouth Cancer Foundation in memory of my Grandad, Bill Harrell.

My Grandad suffered from mouth cancer three times in his life, but on the third time he unfortunately lost the battle and passed away in 2010. He was an inspirational character, always singing and unconditionally devoted to looking out for his family. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face, even when he couldn't get out of bed. He always supported my Mum and her sisters in their running and athletics and so I know that he would have supported me in my first marathon.

The Mouth Cancer Foundation is a charity that supports families and individuals who are affected by mouth cancer and other cancers of the head, neck and throat. As a relatively new charity, anything that you can give would be so valuable to their cause. I know it's a bit of a cliche, but every penny helps so if you have a couple to spare, I would be really grateful if you could donate a little to the Mouth Cancer Foundation.

Thank you everyone!
