Fundraising for The London Irish Centre
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In a moment of madness, I have decided to sign up to run the 2010 British 10K London run for the London Irish Centre on 11th July 2010. Rocky tunes have been downloaded onto ipod.. training starts today!
This well known charity is based in Camden Square in London and provides advice and welfare services to disadvantaged members of the elderly Irish community in London and has done since 1955. Please visit their website for further details on the wonderful work they do.
Many Irish people do very well for themselves in London.
However, well over 50,000 elderly Irish people live alone in London. 3 Irish men commit suicide in Camden each year. The hospital admission rate for depression and anxiety for Irish people in London is 2.5 times the national average. Approximately 3000 survivors of abuse live from in London, many of whom suffer from isolation and on-going trauma.
Please give what you can. All donations will go straight towards the provision of front-line services.
