Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit mine and my mum's JustGiving page.
After running the London Marathon in 2015 My mum and I have made the decision to tackle the 26.2 miles again - I know call us bonkers!
This time we are running the London Marathon 2017 for Breast Cancer Now. There are no words to describe that feeling we experienced when we completed the London Marathon in 2015. It wasn't just raising the money for a wonderful charity in memory of my beautiful grandma Maureen (my mum's mum) but helping make a difference and raise awareness was extremely rewarding for mum and I.
As previously mentioned we are running for Breast Cancer Now the UK’s largest breast cancer charity. More than 50,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer every year – and one woman every 45 minutes loses her life to the disease. This needs to STOP and if we can do our bit to help save peoples lives then that is exactly what we are going to do!
Unfortunately we all know someone who has suffered with breast cancer. For mum and I there are a couple of ladies which we would like to run the marathon for. My mums best friend for over 40 years Sally-ann was sadly diagnosed with breast cancer last year and is currently under going treatment. We are extremely proud of Sally-ann and her bravery facing breast cancer and will hopefully make her proud when we cross that finishing line. Another lovely lady who I unfortunately didn't get the chance to meet was Marceline my partners mum who sadly lost her battle to breast cancer a little over 3 years ago. Although I didn't know Marceline, having to see the effect it has on my partner is just heart breaking. Marceline's amazing family and friends should have never of had to go through that tragic time as shouldn't any family. Completing the marathon for the families and friends of lost love ones, especially my partner losing his mum will be worth every step of the 26.2 miles!
NOW... Lets raise awareness and help support both current and future Breast Cancer sufferer and their families.
Thank you so very much for your donations - Every penny counts :-)
