Story

We have managed to secure places to run in the Flora London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April 2007 in aid of Phab Kids (see http://www.phabkids.co.uk/ for more information). You might see us out pounding the streets of Aberdeen and Northallerton as we train through the winter months for our first marathons. Please wish us all the best and if you can donate a few quid along the way, that would be really appreciated.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also an efficient way to sponsor us: Phab will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online now!

Many thanks for your support.

Simon & Jason.

January 2007.

PS Simon's wife Mary Ward is also running in the marathon on behalf of Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB), go to http://www.justgiving.com/maryward to see her site. January 2007.

PS My wife and I held a car boot sale at Thainstone on Sunday 4th February and raised a total of £166.30. This total has been placed on deposit and the total (plus interest) will be split equally between our charity fundraising efforts after the marathon. Simon. February 2007.

So, we both managed to complete the event but boy was it hot out there! Any thought of target times went out of the window before the start and it was just a  case of agreeing to get round in one piece and to enjoy it as much as possible. The other runners and especially the crowds of supporters were absolutely amazing and there was only one part of the race not crammed full of yelling support (a tunnel where they weren't allowed entry). Many thanks to Phab for the support on the day and for organising the meeting location in the Storeyard at the end. That really was a treat.

Once all the sponsorship is collected that has been pledged to date, we will exceed our target and should raise in excess of £2650 so many thanks to all who have contributed.
