In autumn last year I signed up for the Deloitte Ride Across Britain. Over 9 days in June 2010 I will be cycling over 1,000 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End into a prevailing south westerly wind recovering every night in a 5 star tent!

All those winter days training in the pouring rain (sleet, snow, ice) and the endless hours in the gym will be worth it by raising funds for ParalympicGB. Most weekends for the last month or so have been spent touring 100's miles across southern England with a new found fondness for lycra (see picture).     

At the Beijing Paralympic Games, ParalympicsGB had their most successful Games ever, winning 42 gold medals and finishing second on the medal table. At the London Paralympic Games, ParalympicsGB intend to win more medals across more sports than in Beijing. As well as sending the best possible team to the Paralympic Games, ParalympicsGB has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the Paralympic movement and ideals in Great Britain. As part of this, ParalympicsGB promotes disabled sport across the UK.
