Story
Stoke Mandeville Intensive Care Unit
Fund Raising
Hopefully most of us will never see the inside of an Intensive Care Unit. Following an operation for bowel cancer my wife, Louise was recently very ill so I spent many hours sitting by her bedside and saw at first hand what a wonderful job the staff in ITU do.
I was so impressed that I decided I would try and help raise money to buy some additional equipment allowing patients to recover more quickly.
On 6th April I ran an interactive workshop teaching a little about muscles, stretching techniques and how to help prevent backache, RSI, stress and many other aches and pains. This was aimed at anyone driving a car or sitting at a desk.
It took place at:
De Vere Uplands Conference Centre
Four Ashes Road,
Cryers Hill,
High Wycombe HP15 6LB
De Vere’s kindly allowed me free use of their marquee .
It followed a 4Networking breakfast meeting. During this meeting we held a fund raising auction to help my aims and raised a staggering £3000 in just 20 minutes.
If you would like to make a donation to help that would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for your support!
Specifically they need rehabilition chairs to help patients regain their mobility after extended periods in bed.
