Story
We are dedicated to championing quality of life for everyone living with or affected by Cancer. We are here to support men and women with all types of cancer at all stages; newly diagnosed, throughout and post treatment, as well as their wider support network of family, friends and carers. We do this through the provision of support centres, complementary therapies, information and advice and supporting clinical trials. Our services are delivered free of charge to support cancer patients’ emotional well-being alongside their medical treatment.
Since Simon's diagnosis with metastatic kidney cancer in April 2013 we have benefited from the support of The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and some of Simon's treatment has been pioneered and funded by The Helen Rollason Research Centre at Broomfield Hospital. They have been a major factor in Simon still being here with us some two years later. The journey has not always been easy but the support given to us has been invaluable and we cannot thank the charity enough.
You may recall that he actually managed to complete the 15 mile route last year alongside his daughter Yvette. However, due to the side effects from the targeted therapy drug he is now on, he is not able to manage it his year. Instead he will be marshalling along with wife Karen, leaving the hard work to a younger generation. Yvette and her boyfriend Rob will be doing the 15 mile route while Tim is going for broke and doing the 65 mile route in full Deadpool costume.
Please give them your support, any donations, no matter how small will make a difference and will be very much appreciated by us all. Please help us to help as many families touched by this awful disease as we can.
