#TeamYoungLives are running the Virgin Money London Marathon 2020 hoping to raise over £800,000 for young people with cancer and their families.

Story

Why Shrek? - This Is my club name as they say : "I am big, clumsy and not built for running!!"

Why the London Marathon? - Having run the London Marathon in 2018, I uttered the words 'Never again!!', however due to the generosity of my running club the Harvel Hash House Harriers supporting my charity place and a fading memory .... I will be on the start line on the 26th April 2020 (my wedding anniversary! Sorry Maria!)now the 3rd of October 2021..... proudly raising money for CLICsargent.

Why CLICsargent?....

Cancer is an awful experience at anytime in life but the effect of leukaemia/cancer in children and teenagers seems the worst of all. Having had friends lose their daughter to leukaemia and seen the challenges faced by other friends and family who have  been affected by this awful disease the pain of 26.3 miles seems a small insignificant challenge.

When cancer strikes young lives CLIC Sargent helps families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health. We provide specialist support, to help and guide each young cancer patient and their family. For more information, visit www.clicsargent.org.uk
