Story
Sadly, we lost Petrina on the 26th July after a 7 year battle with cancer after it returned, following 10 years of remission.
Petrina was never keen on the cancer fundraising adverts as they glamorised the horrible, horrible trauma people go through.
Petrina never complained and always had a smile on her face during her 6 years of treatments.
Over the years of treatment our baby Freya has grown into a sensible, caring young lady, of 8 years old.
She has had a great start to living with the loss of her mummy, due to the work done by Petrina of course, every inch of Freya is Petrina.
However, St Georges Church and the school has played a huge role in Freyas life as they do with many, many children, whether they go to church or not. The church and the role they play in the kids lives is dear to our heart.
The Church owns the red bank mission hut on car lane, which is used by all the main uniformed organisations. Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, cubs, Scouts. Etc.
These organisations themselves are outstanding, led by volunteers, who give up huge amounts of time, to help develop our children.
Church funds struggle to maintain the Redbank unit and this is reliant on volunteers from Church to undertake maintenance work. This combined with Church grounds is a huge task.
Instead of flowers at Petrina's funeral, we kindly request donations towards the maintenance and decoration of the Redbank hut.
In this way, we can see as many kids as possible continue to benefit from the hut for years to come
Thank you for your support.
