I am riding 100 miles through London and Surrey on 4th of August, in aid of the Polly Parrot Children's Appeal.

The Polly Parrot Children's Appeal is the charity of Basildon Hospital and is dedicated to improving the experiences of children when visiting the hospital.

Polly funds those things that help make a child's visit less traumatic and for those who have to stay, it provides home-from-home comforts  such as sensory equipment, toys, books, child-specfic artwork and furniture.

Previously the appeal has supported the creation of a brand new dedicated children's A&E and now Polly is supporting the hospital's investment in redeveloping the paediatrics facilities, which will include

- redeveloping the paediatric wards to provide state-of-the-art facilities, including paediatric cancer facilities

- creating an adolescent unit

- redeveloping the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Polly is hoping to raise £250,000 over the next three years so any support is greatly appreciated.
