Story
Hello friends,
I had the ambition to run the Brighton Marathon, but it has defeated me twice. Through injury & personal circumstances I have not been able to ready my body for the endurance. However, I have not given up & I have made sure that I am still doing what I can to raise money for SWAN. I have run 7 races so far, but by the end of May/beginning of June (due to a training holiday in Tenerife) I will have completed more than 100 miles of races in the last 12 months.
The Why...?
Those of you who know me well know that I live with a lovely little family in London who have seen their smallest member afflicted with an unknown genetic condition. She is currently being supported by the amazing people at SWAN UK & Great Ormond Street to help understand what is going on. For those of you unaware, a child born with a SWAN (a Syndrome Without A Name), support is often hard to come by & funding is even less, as there is no name to put to what they have. With the condition being unknown, the prognosis is the same (if not always the worst of the worst) & this is often a terrifying message to receive as a parent. Although she is not mine; I dote on her like a sister & I have seen the impact her condition has had on two of my favourite people. I wanted to do something that would make even the smallest impact on their experience for the better & I need your help to make it happen!
