Story
On 19th July 2014 I am going to tackle the full South Downs Way in a single day in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Known to many as the toughest off-road ride in the UK, the seriously challenging South Downs Way Off-Road Bike Ride (formerly the Randonnee) covers 100 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne with 10,000ft of climbing. My training is now well under way and I'm just starting to realise how hard it might be!
Apart from the mid-life crisis, I'm doing it in memory of my old colleague and friend at Batcheller Monkhouse; Neil Brook. Neil died in November 2013 and was the most fun, positive and happy person one could hope to work with. His premature death was a huge shock to all who knew him and he is greatly missed. Giving to the British Heart Foundation is a great way of helping the fantastic work they do to fight heart disease and will provide a small legacy in Neil's memory.
Even the smallest donation will be gratefully received and will help spur me on as I grind up yet another hill!
