Mary’s Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding programmes in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds more than 2.6 million children every school day and it costs just £19.15/€22.00 to feed a child for a year.

Story

So here goes...

In September 2018, one week after his 89th birthday, my grandad passed away after a short battle with cancer.

I've been trying to think of a way of raising money for good causes in his memory and before what would have been his 90th birthday in September, I will run 9 half marathons - one for each decade of his life.

Those that know me, know my knees are pretty much made out of chocolate so this will certainly be a challenge!

I'm raising money for Mary's Meals, a charity my grandad held close to him. They help to provide Meals for the worlds poorest children and helps to educate them about food.

To be honest, I could have picked a host of charities with all the amazing support that he received in his final weeks and months but I know this meant something to him.

Any donations will be hugely appreciated and will help to spur me on!

I'll be updating this page throughout as the half marathons are decided, I'll be starting with Wilmslow Half Marathon on 24th March!

Thanks. Simon
