Story

To say I am not a runner is a massive understatement (Simon Pegg at the start of Run Fat Boy Run looks athletic in comparison).

At the point of signing up to this challenge (3rd June 2016) I am unable to run more than a few minutes without feeling like I am dying.

However part of my other One Year No Beer challenge (no alcohol for one year) is to set myself a currently unobtainable goal to work towards. Having lived close to the Marathon route, the London Marathon is the challenge that I have always wished I could complete.

Going from zero fitness to running a marathon is going to be tough and will require hours of training over the winter. To help motivate me I needed a good cause to do this for. What better cause could I find than the NSPCC who aim to remove child cruelty in the UK.  With one in five 11 - 13 year olds being subjected to neglect or abuse, I find it difficult to find a more worthy cause.

To add some incentive the first 500 pounds raised will doubled. I am open to any other fund raising ideas or silly challenges along the way to help me smash my fundraising target.
