We fund projects providing opportunities to disadvantaged young people in London.
Story
Greetings! The somewhat last minute nature of this sponsorship request matches the last minute nature of this plan, and hence the last minute nature of my training regime. I am relying on Frusli bars to make up for this.
However, it is too easy to ask for sponsorship for something one is naturally gifted at. And therefore I am not seeking sponsorship just for eating Frusli bars. Over the weekend of 01/02 August I am attempting a made-up challenge (made-up in that I invented it, rather than in the sense it won’t actually happen). “The 3 parks & 3 peaks” will involve running between & around the circumference of the 3 major parks (= 10 miles), before then taking on the more traditional challenge of the 3 peaks (= 10,000 feet in height and a load more miles). There is also a fair chance it will end with 3 pints, but I’m not asking for sponsorship for that element.
The charity I will be doing this in aid of is The Tom Ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust.
Tom ap Rhys Pryce was robbed and killed on 12 January 2006 as he walked home from Kensal Green underground station. In his memory the Trust supports projects falling under two main categories. To help provide educational and vocational training opportunities to individuals who might not otherwise have access to them and to help tackle the root causes of violent gang culture and street crime.
Further information on the Trust can be found at http://www.tomaprhyspryce.com/
I have come across the Trust through working with them at Deloitte and have been incredibly impressed and moved by their motivation and efforts.
I know that any amounts donated are gratefully appreciated and put towards very worthy causes.

Tom's Charity assists disadvantaged children and young people to achieve their potential and to lead rewarding lives by providing them with educational and vocational training opportunities which they would otherwise be unlikely to receive, and helps to tackle and prevent the root causes of violent gang culture and street crime.
