The Crick Playing Field Association is a registered charity, which is managed by a dedicated and enthusiastic group of volunteers. The Playing Field is long established, and situated close to the centre of the village, and accessible by all members our community. Presently we have a well used children’s play area, skateboard park and a pavilion that is available for functions, meetings and community events. Our facilities allow all age groups to play, exercise and take part in sport, in a safe environment.
The CPFA has embarked upon a ten year improvement plan to enhance our facilities. In August 2019 we carried out a survey of the 950 households in the village, to find out what our residents would like to be included/improved on the Playing Field. The survey was not prescriptive and asked a very simple open question asking what our residents see provided, to enhance their use and enjoyment of the Playing Field.
Adult Fitness Equipment received the most votes and we have now found the necessary funding for the purchase of several pieces of apparatus, which should be installed and ready for use in June of this year.
The next phase is to modernise the children’s play area for the benefit of the younger members of the village. The equipment that we would like to purchase is high quality and built to last, so isn’t cheap. The total cost is in excess of £10,000. Unfortunately the Corona Virus pandemic, greatly reduced our income, although we have managed to raise £5,000.
As stated above the Playing Field is well used and a fantastic asset for the village, but we desperately need your help to raise the short-fall of £5,000 through this Just Giving appeal. If we succeed in raising the necessary funds, we will be able to provide a wonderful play facility for our younger residents to enjoy for years to come, so please give what you can through the link below:
