Fundraising for Child Advocates San Antonio
Story
Simeon and I experienced the power and love of CASA while supporting our CASA children during their moments of pain and fear.
We supported them when they cried at the end of a parent visit, when they were transported to a shelter, and when they lashed out hitting and screaming in their heartache. It has been one of our highest callings and most fulfilling life moments to advocate on behalf of the most vulnerable children in our community.
As a result of our volunteer advocacy, our children avoided placement in another shelter, and were instead placed with their grandmother who loves and cares for them. Our case had a happy ending with reunification with the children's family.
Since COVID-19 began, more of the reports of abuse and neglect to Child Protective Services (CPS) have been substantiated and severe, requiring children to be removed immediately and placed into foster care. And now, with the start of school, the number of child abuse and neglect cases is increasing. Your financial support will help CASA assign a caring and trained Volunteer Advocate to each child quickly so they will have a trusted adult to rely on throughout their time in foster care.
