Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am virtually running the length of the UK, a whopping 874 miles, in memory of our dear friend, Mark Cruickshank (aka Sparky), who sadly lost his battle to multiple myeloma in September 2019. Mark was only 42 years of age when he was diagnosed, and 44 years old when he passed. He left behind his loving wife, my wonderful friend, Kirsty, and his beloved son, Liam also his Mum, Dad and Brother.
Sparky was an absolute font of knowledge, we would always joke, what Sparky doesn't know, is not worth knowing! Many a time I asked Sparks for advice on something I needed to buy, leaking roofs, cars - you name it, he knew it. Back in our hey day, we would go out on a Sunday afternoon in Aberdeen drinking, what a laugh we used to have! There was a crowd of us usually and they always ended with some sort of carnage and memories made!
Mark is very much missed and the hole in everyone's lives still very apparent. I'm donating to Friends of Anchor as they supported Mark and the family during his battle and a lot of others we know. Who knows what will happen in the future, I may find someone else, or myself, using the service. I want to make sure that it is there for anyone else faced with the devastating news of having cancer.
