Story

RNIB’s very own Shona Black and Daryl Stewart are taking on ALL 4  Kiltwalks this year in support of RNIB.

Shona and Daryl both live with sight loss and want to help raise awareness of the issues they and others who also live with sight loss face every day.

Shona is an RNIB volunteer and organises Welcome Back Health Walks in conjunction with RNIB and Paths for All in East Lothian. Shona is severely sight impaired and has been for most of her adult  life. She is a keen walker and loves the outdoors. Taking on this challenge will be a lot of fun and take her walking to another level.

Daryl has never had full sight. He has been an RNIB volunteer for many years. He still volunteers whenever he can although he now has a full-time position with RNIB. He is also a keen football fan and travels all over the country to follow his beloved team. Shona can’t wait to hear all about this during the walks if she can stay awake. 😊 Daryl is very much looking forward to taking on this epic challenge.

There are 3 distances for Kiltwalks,, The Wee Wander, The Big Stroll, and the Mighty Stride. Shona and Daryl will take on their first Kiltwalk, the 14-mile Big Stroll in Glasgow on 30th April. Then the 17-mile Mighty Stride in Aberdeen on June 4th. Next is Dundee on 20th August and 20 miles. Yikes!  The last one in sunny Edinburgh is the 14-mile Big Stroll on 17th September. This one will be the grand finale. Phew!

Shona and Daryl would love you to join them. It would be fantastic to have as many people as possible in their team. You can sign up to do whichever distance you’d like at whichever Kiltwalk you’d like to do. When signing up please state that RNIB is your charity of choice and our team name is Shona and Daryl’s Big Stroll.

Shona and Daryl really need support. Please donate if you can however if you are unable to it would be fantastic if you could share this page with your colleagues, friends and families and encourage them to donate and share it far and wide too. Let’s work together to help as many people as possible get the help and support they need to make living with sight loss easier.

If you can donate, we thank you so much! Please also remember to tick the Gift Aid box if you are eligible to do so as this means more of your hard earned cash will go directly to RNIB and support people living with sight loss.

Thank you so much for your kind
support.
