Story
Hi,
So we have decided to go sober in October in order to raise money and awareness for throat cancer. For those of you who know either of us we love the pub and sinking a few jars. Being students are alcohol intake is particularly high, so this is why we have come up with this challenge and are supporting a charity close to both of our hearts.
Throat cancer has impacted both of our lives. For Zac both of his Grandfathers have suffered from it, pops won his battle however Grangran passed away in November 2018. The pain and suffering that this horrible disease inflicted on them both was awful too witness. For Pops he no longer has the ability to taste most foods and it has inhibited his ability to enjoy the foods most of us take for granted from day to day. Ed and his family lost a dear friend of their's back in 2018 Mick Huckle. Mick won his battle with throat cancer but sadly passed away soon after due to respiratory complications. A true legend and a heart greater than anything imaginable.
We expect you all to drink our beers for us this month!!!!
So drink up!
Cheers xx
we are currently working on a nationwide throat cancer awareness campaign, that will include coverage media (TV, radio and newspaper) as well as poster and mail drops. We are doing this because we want to highlight a) what a throat cancer is, b) its impacts on people and their loved ones lives, c) how to prevent throat cancers from developing and d) highlighting the signs to look for to ensure early detection and better survival rates. Please help us with our work, donate to help us look after peoples throats with this awareness campaign and stop people dying needlessly.Thank you.
