Story
Birmingham Christmas Shelter is opening its doors again during Christmas week 2022 to provide hot meals and drinks, entertainment, services, emergency clothing and a safe, warm place to sleep for about 120 homeless people and others who are just lonely over the Christmas period, a time when the majority of other services in the Birmingham area are closed for the festive season. It costs us about £30k to run Shelter Week each year and 100% of the money raised goes to the charity. We receive no public funding and rely completely on cash donations, community fundraising and volunteers who give their time for free. Like other charities, all our normal fundraising activities had to be suspended during the pandemic so we have to double our efforts in the run up to Christmas. We therefore need your help with our Fundraising this year. Every £20.00 raised enables: 4 guests to have a cooked breakfast, a guest to eat a cooked Xmas dinner, 2 guests to eat a cooked evening meal each day and a guest to have a shower each day
