I’m Shirley Anderson and part of the Inspired Team taking on the 1000 mile cycling challenge.
I will be participating on the journey from Exeter to Tattenhall taking in our 6 wonderful Retirement Villages. I work as a village adviser at our Retirement Village, Gifford Lea in Tattenhall where my role is to help clients choose their next home and ensure it is suited to their individual needs.
Working with a retirement community is very rewarding and I
very much enjoy my role and looking after our residents. As our residents are approaching later life, we do have occasions when health issues of many natures could be encountered all of which must be taken into consideration when helping our purchasers make these important decisions.
Health issues come in many forms, we are all aware of mental
health issues but most of us are probably unaware of the various forms of mental health encountered. The charity we are supporting and raising much needed funds for is MIND. Mind supports over 513,000 people across England and Wales. MIND is committed to
providing support and services to anyone experiencing mental health problems and to continue their services and support much needed funds are required. If you are able to sponsor the team this will
assist so much with the work that MIND do to help those dealing with mental health in so many ways. Any support you can offer is very much appreciated.
Cycling long distances on consecutive days is challenging
and the elevation we will experience on our journey from Exeter to Tattenhall will make this journey more challenging.
I am now pledging to increase my mileage to 1,000 miles which I will complete in my final training preparations leading up to our event and the miles completed during the journey from Millbrook village in Exeter to Gifford Lea, Tattenhall.
