SSAFA  is the oldest national military charity providing lifelong support to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force.  They are there for service personnel and their families whenever and wherever they are needed.  

I have personally used their services as my father died whilst serving in the Army when I was 13 years old.  SSAFA played an important role, supporting me through what was a very difficult time, even attending and holding my hand at the funeral.  Since then, they have placed flowers on his grave at my request, as he is buried a long way away in Germany.    

Additionally, my son Daniel was a paratrooper up until 2009, having joined the Army as a boy soldier, he served in both Iraq and Afghanistan and is my hero.  During some of those months when I needed to talk to someone who understood the anguish of dealing with a loved one in Theatre, SSAFA was there for me.  I would like to give a little back, hence the Skydive.
