Story
The University of Sheffield's Accommodation & Commercial Services (ACS) Department and wholly owned subsidiary, UNICUS, will be running the Sheffield Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon for The Children’s Hospital Charity, Sheffield. We would be grateful for any donation you can give for this great cause, however big or small.
The Children's Hospital Charity exists to make an extraordinary hospital even better. Each year over 245,000 patient visits are made to Sheffield Children's Hospital from across South Yorkshire, the UK, and the world. Through charitable donations, they're able to buy life-saving equipment, fund vital research, and create a comfortable engaging environment for patients.
Every penny can make a difference to patients and families. Here's a few examples of where your money could go:
- £50 could pay for colourful plants in our patient sensory garden, creating a relaxing environment for children and their families.
- £500 could pay for furnishings in our playrooms, making the clinical more comfortable.
- £1,000 could help furnish our parent rooms, providing sofas and a space to relax whilst loved ones are in our care.
- £25,000 could sponsor a room such as an ensuite bedroom or a physiotherapy room in the new building.
Our team members who will be running on Sunday 10 April 2016 are:
Louisa Critchlow - Andy Woffindin - Gavin Lambert - Kevin Howarth - Peter Anstess - David Whitaker - Dan Shaw - Arvin Simpson - Peter Ellis - Rob Betts - Alex Fletcher - Ben Slater
If anybody else across the Department or the University would like to join the team then let us know at acsmarketing@sheffield.ac.uk - the more the merrier!
