Story
I have been wanting to do something for charity for a while now. My Mum has done some amazing things like climb Kilimanjaro and walking the London to Brighton, and that has inspired me to do something myself.
I always think that people are more willing to sponsor a person if the thing they are doing is either really hard, or really personal.
I haven't had hair cut about my shoulders since I was about five, and now I am cutting it to about 2 inches long. My hair is 20-21 inches long so I will be cutting off 18-19 inches and donating that hair to the charity http://www.locksoflove.org/ who make wigs for children with long term hair loss, commonly alopecia areata. I am then giving my sponsor money to Macmillan Cancer support.
Cutting my hair this short will be hard and strange to get used to but that will be 110% worth it if I get sponsors.
I will also be filming the cutting off of my hair and putting on my youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/Shayymoose?feature=mhee.
The hairdressers who are not only cutting/styling my hair and letting me film it, but also doing so free of charge are http://www.christos.co.uk/ They are fantastic and also work with Macmillan to give wig fittings to cancer patients (http://www.patienthaircare.org/)
