Sharon's Walk for MND, 1 April 2021
We fund care, campaigning and research to achieve a world free from MND

Story

My mother was diagnosed with MND in 1990 at which time my only knowledge of the disease was that David Niven had died from it.  Over the next 2 years mum deteriorated losing the ability to walk and struggling to eat and speak. It was dreadful to watch her and feel so helpless that there was nothing we could do.  A few years after her death I joined the committee of the East Sussex Branch and have been actively involved ever since.  We give advice, provide moral support and raise funds to provide equipment. Research is taking place but as yet the cause of the disease is unknown and there is no cure.  I am going to walk 100 miles during April and I hope you will support me by donating what you can.  Whatever you give will benefit to those living with the disease and their carers in the East Sussex area.   Thank you so much.
