We provide help, support and services to children and adults with autism

Story

As an autistic person of colour, finding adequate support and services is rather challenging. There aren’t many services available to autistic people for a number of reasons, one of them being a lack of funding. And as for the services that are available - they aren’t really spoken about that much.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that is still very widely misunderstood, and often pathologised. Resources for Autism is a charity that seeks to support and understand both autistic children and adults.

During my estrangement, accessing their services was extremely helpful (and this is an understatement). I seeked advocacy from RfA as a result of being failed by the learning disability service in my local area. I’m very grateful for the support that I received - this enabled me to obtain the funding necessary to complete my final year at university.

Therefore, I’d like to run for this charity. I am also running with my best friend, Ben who is also on the autistic spectrum. We both decided that we want to help our community and raise autism awareness together; there's no other person I'd rather run with!
