Story
Hi All,
I hope you are keeping well. I promise not to take too much of your time.
This year I am embarking on a Sahara Desert Trek in aid of UTB’s chosen charity of the year, Depaul UK charity (registered charity no. 802384). As you may already know the Charity believes no young person should have to sleep rough. A vital part of their work is preventing young people becoming homeless and offering accommodation, 80,000 young people experience homelessness each year. Given that we are going through a pandemic, I had moments where I thought how could I give back and help the community as well as enjoy/challenge myself at the same time.
Myself and ex-UTB colleague (Kas, some of you may remember him) will be setting off on this charity challenge in November 2021. We will walk 100km in 5 days, this will involve camping in the desert and basic food rations. This will challenge us to experience something new to us both.
Our aim is to raise £2345.00 by September 2021 if COVID-19 restrictions are eased. All funds raised will to go directly toward Depaul UK. We are extremely fortunate as UTB will match our fundraising. However, we are in need of your donations and help so please feel free to donate, we have set up a page – www.justgiving.com/fundraising/shah-and-kass for you to donate.
We will be sending pics of our trek, which I’m sure you all will have a good laugh at.
Thanks in advance,
Shah (and Kas)
