Story
In the UK, one child in every hundred suffers from a lifelong disability that will profoundly affect his or her ability to lead a full and happy life. More than 3.8 million children grow up in low income households or live in an environment where they are subjected to poverty of aspiration. Over 1 million young people aged between 16-19 are not in full time employment, education or training. Wooden Spoon believes that all children and young people deserve the chance to live happy, fulfilled lives regardless of the challenges they may face. Spoon harnesses the spirit and values of sport to give disadvantaged children and young people a chance to achieve their full potential in life.

We will be attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks in November this year, where we will no doubt be hit with torrential rain, high winds and chaffage. We will be hitting the hills before sunrise and walking past sunset throughout God's Country. The expected time for this is 12 hours, subject to map reading! The challenge encompasses Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough over a 25 mile trek. Any donations you can make for this highly worthy cause would be greatly received.
