Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've always wanted to run the London Marathon. I'm really pleased to use this experience to also raise money for a cause that's close to my heart.
My stepfather Rob was born with one kidney and has endured a lifetime of medical treatment. About a decade ago his kidney began failing which caused Rob's health to seriously deteriorate. To improve his health and regain a good quality of life Rob required a kidney transplant. Luckily my brothers Joachim, Orrin and I were all matches. Orrin was the best mach and bravely offered to donate one of his kidneys. This was a difficult experience for our family, but we're so fortunate that the NHS and organisations like Kidney Care UK are able to provide these life-saving services. Six years after the operation Rob is now able to live a good quality of life.
I would like to dedicate my marathon run to Rob for being an inspiration and fighting through his ill health. Most people will not realise the pain Rob suffers with as he always has a positive and brave outlook.
Any donations made to Kidney Care UK I'm sure will support families in need and help improve the quality of life for those with kidney ill health.
