Hey - A few years ago one of my dear friends was diagnosed with throat cancer - they thankfully made a full recovery - So this year I'm cycling the London to Brighton Bike Ride for Throat Cancer UK. Around 3000 people die a year from this rare cancer, and all proceeds go directly to the charity and to help research, treatments and post op care.  If you can give a little, it would go a long way :)

Prevention and early diagnosis are two of the best tools we have when it comes to saving more lives, for those effected by throat cancers.When caught early enough, we see survival rates of over 90%.But sadly, too often, people either ignore or dismiss the warning signs and this can lead to a later stage diagnosis. This later stage means more aggressive, longer chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment and in some cases, life changing surgical intervention.Like other successful nationwide awareness campaigns for other cancers, such breast or lung, we believe it is important that the general public are made more aware of the signs to look out for when it comes to throat cancer...and get them checked out, before it is too late.
