I am running the Great North Run for Diabetes UK because my eldest son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 3 years ago. Isaac was just 6 years old when diagnosed but he has managed incredibly well. His regime of testing his blood glucose and injecting insulin multiple times a day is as natural to him now as eating or sleeping!
