Remember Rob

We would love you to come and join us on Sunday 12th August for the 3rd Annual 5-a-side Football Tournament in Memory of Rob.

This year, we've decided to have it at more centrally at Manchester Powerleague, 'The Pitz', in Ardwick. With it's spectator balcony, it's easier to watch the teams in action and we've booked the room and bar for the day, to make it a fun filled charity day for all the family to get involved.

After the 5 a-side tournament there will be refreshments, music, games and plenty of great prizes...and as an incentive for the football fanatics to stick around as well we will be showing the Community Shield in the function room. Further details to follow - so watch out for updates!!

Sudden Cardiac Death is more common than people realise, causing 12 deaths in the under 35s in the UK every week!

You may notice a change in charity this year...previously we have donated the money to CRY but this year we are fundraising for SADS UK who also provide vital research and screening for young people. This charity also supplies local schools and communities with cardiac equipment and this year we've decided to try to raise money to purchase a defibrillator for FC Bluestar, where Rob's son Ethan plays football.

We're already off to a great start with the fantastic donation of £140 from newly weds Al & Jemma Kirkley and their wedding guests who very kindly donated the speech sweepstake collection to this year's event.

The tournament will start at 11am followed by a buffet lunch and winners presentations in the bar. Mixed gender teams of all abilities welcomed - this is about having a laugh, playing Rob's favourite sport and raising money for a good cause!

We'll also hold a mini tournament for kiddies so don't forget to bring their trainers along!
