Cancer    

 

As some of you know this past 18mths my Mam has been fighting Cancer.  A battle I’m proud to say she has fought courageously and with the help of our health professionals is beating it off, hopefully for good.  

It is for this reason that this year my family and I will be raising money by running for Cancer Research.  My wife Claire and I will be running the great north run 13.5 miles, Ciarra(9) will be running the 5k, Erin(7) and Euan(5) will be running in the 3k run.

Cancer research UK require money to invest in various areas including education  about reducing the risk of contracting cancer, early diagnosis, better treatment and even  immunisation.  This research is all aimed at decreasing the risk and increasing recovery chances all of us that either have been or will be ultimately affected.

Cancer is a horrible disease affecting over 330,000 people in the UK per year, 1 in 3 of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives, all of us will be touched by cancer in some way.
