Story
Hi everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my site.
As you may or may not know, I am taking part in the Great South Run on 24th October 2010 in aid of an amazing charity - Canine Partners.
I know that you have probably been asked for donations a lot this year, but please let me tell you a bit about the charity, and anything you can spare, no matter how small makes all the difference!
Canine Partners was founded in 1990 to assist people with disabilities to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life, by providing specially trained assistance dogs.
The dogs not only provide practical day to day assistance with tasks that may be difficult, painful,or impossible to perform, depending on individual circumstances, but they also provide that special companionship, unconditional love and affection which is so unique to dogs.
Caring for and managing the daily needs of a dog not only enriches human life in practical ways, but provides physiological, psychological and social benefits that help keep people healthy and happy. Research in this area is well documented. However, in the case of Canine Partners assistance dogs, this effect is magnified several times over.
This amazing charity helps people with all manner of disabilities get their independence back and help them lead a more fulfilling life - something a lot of us take for granted.
If you get a chance, please visit the charity website, where you can adopt a Canine Partners puppy, and even become a 'Puppy Parent':-

Please give what you can and help me make every mile totally worthwhile.........thank you!!
