Update: To everyone who has been kind enough to have donated to this page. I am sure you are aware that this year's London Marathon is now for Elite Athletes only. I would like to defer my place until 2021, when I will honour your kindness and important contribution to The Dementia Research Institute. As some of you may be aware, my darling Barbara has now entered full time care in a home which has devastated me and my determination to complete this run and cause is stronger than ever. Injury, old bones and Covid permitting, I will run for everyone next year. keep safe and my thanks as always. Scott x

I am running this year's Virgin London Marathon to continue raising awareness and much needed funding for Alzheimer's and Dementia and the people living with it and their carers and families. As many of you may know, my beloved wife Barbara was diagnosed with the disease in 2014 and this continues to effect her\our life and progress within her along with 850,000 other people living with the diagnosis. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. Both myself and Barbara are Ambassadors for The Alzheimer's Society and proud to be so. Please give as little or as much as you can. Please help us to fight Dementia.
