Story

Running has been a large part of my social life, my health and fitness - and my mental well being.

Over the years, I have run for various national and local charities; and family causes - because running is something I really enjoy.  I have made lots of friends and memories through Balsall Common Run Club - and this socialisation is an important part of my life.

Recently, and very sadly, a friend's son took his own life - and this event had a really big emotional impact on me.  At that time too, I had not recently found a regular rhythm in running either.  So I felt the least I could do, was do a little something extra to help; by commencing this challenge.

A dual benefit for the charity below, and hopefully my continued health and well being.

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK.

Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you so much in advance, for anything you may be able to donate.

I know that times are hard, and we are all feeling the squeeze - but whatever you donate - it will make a huge difference.
