Story
Hello everybody,
The Kyleakin Sleep Out is Back!
We will be returning to the bus stop in Kyleakin on 29th November 2019 at 6pm to ‘sleep rough’ with only a cardboard box and sleeping bag, no phone, no food - just the way thousands do on our streets in Scotland every night!
I don’t know about you, but family Christmas dinner is one
of my favourite things about Christmas.
But for the homeless, it’s more than dinner, it’s the chance to get together with friends and a chance to enjoy some festivities at a time when it’s all too easy to start feeling lonely.
I will be joined by friends on the night in hope to further increase
awareness and raise as much money as possible for Social Bite, an amazing charity who through a chain of cafes and restaurants employ over 100 people many of whom have struggled with homelessness. They are the largest distributor of fresh free food to the homeless in the UK giving out over 100,000 items of food and hot drinks per year.
The statistics of homelessness in Scotland are not insurmountable. Everyone donating to the cause will be playing their part in Social Bites mission to end homeless in Scotland.
Please donate what you can to this important cause.
Donations of anything from £5 to £250 can go to support
1) Hot meals for a homeless person for 2 months with Social Bite's Social Suppers meal service
2) Support of an Social Bite Academy place which provides training, qualifications and skills to ex-homeless, no-fixed- abode and vulnerable people in our shops, HOME restaurant and partner companies.
3)A range of solutions to homelessness throughout Scotland
