On 22nd February 2013 we are going to do a firewalk for Cynthia Spencer Hospice. This firewalk is an inspirational journey that we are looking forward to doing. As the name suggests, it is a bare foot walk over red-hot wood embers measuring around 800 degrees. No tricks, no special effects. Just us and the fire.
In November 2012 our wonderful mum lost her battle with cancer. We have decided to raise funds for this fantastic charity as our mum spent her last 10 days at Cynthia Spencer Hospice and past away peacefully and painfree there! They treated her like a queen and looked after her every need. They were also there for us. Whether it was for a chat, a hug or a shoulder to cry on! They even organised Clair's wedding to Darren in a few days which was all held at chapel there, followed by the reception in their day hospice! They also cared for our dad who past away from cancer in 2002 at 49, although we were 10 years younger we still remember their warmth and fabulous care of our lovely dad! We really cannot thank them enough but would love to raise at least £200 to help the people that stay there. Nothing is too much for the patients and any monies to help their final days be comfortable will be very gratefully received!
We love that the firewalk is the day before our mums birthday- she would have been 56! We hope she'll be watching down on us with our dad and giving us the courage to complete the 20ft walk!
Lots of love
Sarah and Clair
