Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hurstwood Park is a Neurological ward in Haywards Heath, Sussex. It cares for people who have suffered various neurological problems. It is set within peaceful gardens at the Princess Royal Hospital.

In 2011, my mum underwent surgery and treatment there, following the discovery of a brain aneurysm. During the operation to place a stent on the aneurysm (in order to stop it from bursting) she suffered a stroke, meaning she had to spend her recovery period in the Intensive Care Unit of Hurstwood Park for a couple of weeks.

The care of her consultant, Mr Sorin Bucur, and the rest of the neurological team was none other than exceptional at such a difficult time for my mum and myself.

All of the equipment they use here is funded from charitable donations, so every penny/dollar raised will go directly to buying the necessary items crucial to the centre.

I had already planned a trip to New Zealand from October - March so the timing is perfect. I am new to running long distances, so this is a huge challenge for me. So far, I have been training for 3 months and I've overcome my fear of longer runs.......for now.

Please sponsor me so I can reach £1000 and donate it to such a worthy place.

THANK YOU!!!
