Story
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :-)
On Sunday 9th September I will be throwing myself out of a plane in the name of charity... I wanted to do something special, something that goes beyond donating blindly, volunteering, or contributing to charity shops... obviously everything helps, but those things don't really take much effort or guts.
As anybody who knows me will know, I am a huge jessy when it comes to heights! Many a time have I been too chicken to go out onto a balcony at somebody's apartment. Even watching a head-cam video of somebody doing a skydive makes me wanna burst into tears!!!
So, obviously, the best idea is to do a skydive...! I've not asked any friends to do it with me, because I can't think of anything worse than somebody giving me a cheesy grin and a thumbs up in the plane, while I'm saying my Hail Marys and thinking I actually have gone mad this time. I just want to raise money to help a really, really good cause.
This could not be further out of my comfort zone... I'm sure it will be an amazing experience - thank you and sorry again to my lovely Auntie Helen, who bought me a skydive for my 21st birthday but I was too terrified to redeem the voucher and go through with it! This time though, I can't back out... the charity is depending on my jumping and on your funds.
St. Gemma's is a charity local to me in Leeds which cares for people with life threatening illnesses, usually cancer, and provides support for their families. Through charity work and volunteering I have dealt with elderly people in my local area, and several of them have had to enlist the care and support of St. Gemma's Hospice.
It costs £22,700 to run the hospice for just one day. The least us healthy people can do is to help those who are less able and more in need. You never know, one day it could be us....

Please give generously, or whatever you can afford - and *please* don't forget to apply GiftAid if you're a UK taxpayer. If you'd rather not donate on here then I have a paper form that you can fill in :o) Your donations will go to a truly worthwhile charity. My biggest thanks in advance, you're all fantastic. Thank you xxx
