Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Sarah Nuttall, and I have been lucky enough to be selected for a 12 week sustainability placement in Tanzania from September 29th - 18th December.
Including myself there will be 14 of us in our group. 7 will also be from the UK and 7 will come from Tanzania.
Our main aim is to fight poverty overseas through making long term improvements to communities, whilst teaching locals about water sanitation and natural resource management, bringing a healthier future after the Raleigh ICS volunteers have left.
I really excited to start work in Tanzania and to work closely with the community. On past Raleigh ICS expeditions in Tanzania, volunteers have built water sanitation systems, kitchen gardens, toilets and much more.
You can read about projects the teams have worked on via their inspirational blogs: https://raleighinternational.org/ri-blogs/raleigh-tanzania-ics
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and help me to raise that £800 target which will enable the charity to send me to Tanzania and start work.
I need to raise £800 for Raleigh International who are one of the respected development
charities that deliver ICS. This will allow them to continue to bring about positive change in the
developing communities where they work.
I have packed the car up and taken it to the car boot, had a crazy windy sale there! I have also taken part in a challenge similar to 'Live Below the Line', called the '£5 food challenge', where I lived on £1 a day for 5 days. Donations of artwork from local West Country artists have been sold along with tea and homemade cakes at the Phoenix Centre in Watchet on the 27th August (Daytime), along with a wonderful music night at Pebbles Tavern in the evening of the 27th!
All money raised from these sales and events has been donated towards my fund.
I have reached over the original £800 target Raleigh set for me, fundraising goes on and any contribution from you will help the charity to stay alive and continue make a
real difference to the lives of people in developing countries, so please dig deep!
Your donation will contribute to the ICS programme, so that 7,000 young people from the UK and overseas can volunteer on projects in the developing world and fight poverty.
